A six-member delegation led by NADA Chairman Dhruba Thapa recently met with the newly appointed Director-General of the Inland Revenue Department Ritesh Kumar Shakya and discussed several policy issues related to Inland Revenue.During the meeting and discussion, Chairman Thapa expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the department in the training program conducted by NADA every year and requested assistance in the tax-related training program to be organized by NADA in all the seven states in the near future.Similarly, on the occasion, Chairman Thapa said that the importers and dealers would delay in deducting the invoice of value-added tax due to uncertainty of banks and financial institutions while selling the vehicles and also requested for easing of the practical difficulties.During the discussion, Vice President Sunil Rijal said that spare parts importers must issue a computerised bill. He said that the H.S. code should also be mentioned, adding that border checkpoints should be tightened to prevent the unauthorized import of automobile spare parts. Moreover, General Secretary Surendra Kumar Upreti requested the automobile dealers to strictly enforce the issue of mandatory registration in value-added tax and also to make arrangements for online payment. At the end of the discussion, Director-General Shakya said that the system would be improved. He further added that open border was a problem of the state and the same arrangement would be made for all the taxpayers. Similarly, Deputy Director-General Arjun Prasad Bhattarai urged the businessmen to cut the invoices as soon as possible. The meeting also saw the presence of Deputy Director-General Govinda Prasad Subedi and Ramesh Sharma Poudel, Director Padam Kumar Shrestha, NADA's Secretary Vikram Singhania, Treasurer Milan Babu Malla and Co-Treasurer Pankaj Agrawal.
